I love using Wix and I advise everyone reading this article to make the switch. Within a few days you could be the proud owner of a beautiful website that looks modern, professional, and is posed to compete with the best sites on the internet.

Why do I advocate Wix so strongly? Since I was young I always wanted to create websites that could express my passions in life. Not wanting to spend my life bogged down learning the painfully intricate nuisances of scripting code, I awaited the day for a saviour to come along and sweep me off my feet. Sure, there were other drag + drop website design programs that caught my eye, but all fell short of expectations until Wix.

When I opened up the program, I was pleasantly surprised when things just clicked. I don't just mean metaphorically either. Elements on the site automatically literally adhere to a grid, with markers indicating when somethings is perfectly centered or aligned with other elements on the page. This made is extremely easy for me to customize my site the way I wanted without having to spend a ton of time fixing the way it looked afterward. Everything about Wix's user interface is intuitive and user-friendly. When I wanted to connect something to my website, I was happy to find that all the mainstream websites had integrated their services with Wix through a pain-free app plugin system. Adding plugins to your site is as easy as searching it up and clicking to add to site. A mobile version of your site is essential on the internet today. Wix automatically creates a customizable mobile version of your site for you. Wix comes with many built-in and free plugins within a large app-store to help you with different tasks such as Blog Management, Online Sales, Registering your site with Search Engines, Optimizing your SEO, Collecting Analytics about your Users, and Sending Emails to your Contacts / Subscribers. Normally you are required to purchase and interconnect website code, domain names, and a domain host to start running a website. Wix simplifies the process and combos these services together so you won't need to solicit multiple websites or services to get things running.

Inexpensive but invaluable, a premium account with Wix will combine your website, web-host, and domain name together at about $10-$13 per month.

Wix also offers options if you are looking to get a website up and running completely cost free. With Wix Advertisements and a forced Wix domain URL, Wix will host your site live on the internet at no cost. While I do not suggest this route for professionals, free sites hosted by Wix could prove useful to some users.

There are always alternatives, and it wouldn't be completely fair of us if we didn't discuss and compare their pros and cons as well. The three biggest contenders in the market besides Wix are SquareSpace, Weebly, and Wordpress.

SquareSpace and Weebly are very similar in nature with drag and drop and preset templates, but in my opinion are less popular among paying customers and are lacking in creative accessibility when compared to Wix. Wordpress is and has been for a long time the most popular website creation program. Dating back to the earlier days of the internet, Wordpress is what you are looking at when you come across a "90's" style website. Wordpress was once the king of Search Engine Optimization at one point, but it has since been met and and surpassed in this regard in recent years. Wordpress is the hardest of all to use and will require professional help and coding experience to get a good site up and running. Since I believe that the owners and operators of the business should have an easy time understanding and editing their website, I highly recommend avoiding Wordpress. Wix gives entrepreneurs, business owners, and independent contractors an opportunity to create and control their own website, and seize their online destiny.
